Mentorship for Aspiring Producers and Theatre Makers

We are looking for four aspiring producers/theatre makers. You may be at the very beginning of your career, and looking for guidance and opportunities. Or you may have an idea already which you are looking to develop and get off the ground. Either way, we’d love to help you find the support you need to make your work possible.

To apply, please submit your CV and a one page cover letter detailing the kind of support you require and why you think we would be a good match for you.

We’d love to get a sense of the kind of work you are interested in making as well as the work you enjoy watching. Please send an example of your past work if you have it, but no trouble if not – this is not a requirement.

No prior training is required to apply.

The mentorship will include:

  • 5 x contact sessions (1 hour)
  • Ongoing support over 6 months

Deadline: May 21st, 5pm.

Please send your submissions to: shout@roustabouttheatre.co.uk

About us

Alice Massey & Shae Rooke are two independent producers, and the co-producing team behind the Bristol based family theatre company, Roustabout. They are highly experienced when it comes to developing new projects, touring work across the UK, writing funding applications and supporting the development of artists in the early stages of their career.

Shae has produced a wide range of work including theatre for family audiences, sketch comedy and new writing. She has also written and produced several of her own shows which have toured across the UK and internationally to a range of Fringe festivals including New York Fringe, Brighton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe.

Shae trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and continues to work as both an actor and a producer – often on the same project!

Alice produces work across a range of art forms including family theatre, new writing and dance. She works with artists to support them to create important and successful projects.

Alice has worked with companies including Pins and Needles Productions, Tessa Bide Productions and Sharp Teeth Theatre and produced shows from small, rural touring productions to mid scale runs in highly regarded regional theatres.
