What data we collect and why we collect it

Personal data

We do not collect any personal data unless you email us or sign up as an educator to use our teaching resources.  Your email address and messages will be archived on our mail servers and may be used for our own quality control purposes (for example counting the number of specific requests), and used to aid future correspondence, but will not be passed to any third party.  Nor will we add you to any mailing list. We will  permanently delete any message you send upon demand.

Where we offer free downloads, we log IP addresses and download numbers to gauge popularity by geographic region. This does not involve the collection of any information that would make you personally identifiable.

Clicky Analytics

We use Clicky Analytics to collect the following information when users access or interact with the Site: the browser and operating system you are using, the URL or advertisement that referred you to the Site, the search terms you entered into a search engine that led you to the Site, areas within the Site that you visited, and other information commonly shared when browsers communicate with websites. This information may also include x/y coordinates of mouse events, unique ID tracking cookie, IP address (anonymised), unique device identifier (“Device Identifier”) for any device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.). A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically assigned or connected to the device you use to access the Site, and our servers identify your device by its Device Identifier. Some mobile service providers may also provide us or our third-party service providers with information regarding the physical location of the device used to access the Site.

We use the information from Clicky Analytics in order to assemble statistics regarding usage of the Site as well as to help us understand how users engage with the Site on an individual and aggregate basis in order to improve it; to help with customer service needs (such as troubleshooting issues that users report to us); and for research and analytical purposes such as service performance, customer behaviour and common navigation through the Site.

Opting out of  Clicky website tracking

View the Clicky Analytics privacy policy page which provides additional details including the ability to opt of their analytics tracking: https://clicky.com/terms/privacy.

Cookies

This site uses cookies to store site preferences (for example: whether or not you have chosen to accept cookies) and improve performance.  They do not capture any personal data, and can be cleared from your browser at any time.

Embedded content from other websites

We use a Twitter Feed plugin to display social media content on our website. As a result, our website makes requests to Twitter’s servers in order to display images and videos. These requests make your IP address visible to Twitter, who may use it in accordance with their data privacy policy.

The Tweets displayed in the Twitter feed include the ability to Reply, Share, or Like the Tweet directly on our website. If you choose to interact with these functions then you will make a connection to Twitter.com, who may collect your IP address, your web browser User Agent, store and retrieve cookies on your browser, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the widget, including correlating your Twitter account with whatever action you take within the widget (such as “liking” a Tweet), if you are logged in to Twitter. For more information about how this data may be used, please see Twitter’s data privacy policy.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
